Voice Lessons

July 30, 2010

What an exciting week for Whole Note!  We are now offering voice lessons in San Diego, and accepting students for the Fall!  Voice lessons will be offered in the afternoon/evening, and are 30 minutes in length.  For more information about Whole Note Voice Lessons in San Diego, let me refer you to the webpage. http://www.wholenotemusictherapy.com/pages/voice.html

One of my favorite parts of the Whole Note experience in 2008-09 was the Voice Studio.  In about a year and a half the studio grew from six singers in our first recital, to twenty+ in our fourth and final recital.  It was wonderful to see students grow from recital to recital, and to see them seek out and excel in performance opportunities outside the Whole Note studio as well.

I am excited to have the opportunity to bring Voice Lessons to San Diego now.  My teaching philosophy is that it’s my responsibility to help singers become excellent, well-rounded, “whole” musicians.  We examine all aspects of a song and learn about music theory, diction, and performance practice, in addition to the basics of vocal health and efficient technique.  I believe that anyone can have a successful singing experience if he/she is willing to put in the work and to apply the skills taught in lessons.  As with many things, the best singers are not necessarily the most “gifted,” but are the ones who put the most effort, time, and care into their craft.  And at Whole Note, I strive to inspire and guide all students towards their capabilities, and to help them achieve their personal goals.

I would love to talk to you more about why I love teaching singing.  What questions do you have for me?
